LonelyTree WordPress Theme

LonelyTree is a theme inspired by the global warming conditions around the world and in part dedicated to the bush fires. I live in Australia and if you have read or heard of the destruction caused by the fire in Australia you will have probably know the impact it has had on various communities and Wildlife.

I originally designed the LonelyTree as a big image and realized it might look better maybe as a theme which could be shared by blogger to reflect the urgent attention need to save guard our precious future. The LonelyTree image is a compilation of many brushes which can be found on deviantart.com you can check them out at http://www.gauson.com/blog/2009/11/01/lonelytree-artwork/

Thx so much for your excellent theme – which I’ve trashed to a certain extent for a simple WP cms purpose. Was looking for anything with trees in it for my fathers modest business site and was lucky to find Lonelytree here.

Much appreciated. Let us know if you need any timber.

  5. Martin says:

first let me thank you for that brilliant theme! I plan to use a customized version for our cycling team’s new homepage (prototype on http://62.75.166.92/web5/wordpress/).
Question: I’d like to use WP pages as sort of a lightweight CMS.
Lonelytree only gives me the top levelled pages as menu entries in the header. I, on the other hand, would need to have the page links on top to be nested and subpages to be displayed as submenus when the mouse hovers over a main menu entry for a page. The “Titan” theme does this, for example – i guess this is done based on javascript.
Do you think you will add such an option in the future, or how complicated would it be to modify the theme myself in such a way?

    many thanks in advance!
    Martin

Hi there, just adapted your theme to my site this evening and – well – wanted to express my gratitude for it! It’s a good piece of design: simple, elegant, and was the most seamless transition I’ve ever had into a new theme – literally no errors anywhere!

  13. Ranker says:

I am grateful to you for this great theme. I love this theme because it is so simple and it comes at the right time. I just hope it will work on the latest WP version as well.

    Thank you for developing this.

  14. G' Blog says:

Yes the theme works with the latest version on wordpress 2.8.4

  15. eric says:

I also want to thank you for the clear and reliable work on this theme.
I do have a quick question, what widget are you using that allows for the moving swirl of tags. It’s beautiful.
    Thanks again!!!

  16. Tristan Toye says:

hey i love the theme, just started my site and i would like to know how to remove you built in homepage so i can post a static one of my own.

    please let me know

    -Tristan

    • G' Blog says:

If you have the latest version of wordpress go to the Reading Settings and then you can choose the the static page and which page you want as your frontpage.

  17. Tristan Toye says:

I have tried that but there is still a home button in the top left corner of the page. I need a way to get rid of it and be able to put my own static ‘home’ page there.

    • G' Blog says:

Please remove the following line from the header.php file

      <li id="<?php echo $addclass; ?>"><a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>"><?php _e('Home', 'lonelytree'); ?></a></li>

  18. Thanks for the theme and code! It is a little sad theme, but is perfect for a new blog i plan to launch.

  19. kingeagle says:

Can you mail the newest ‘sidebar.php’ to me,Thank you

  20. kingeagle says:

    I like you’s “wp-cumulus” position,but I can’t do it.

    • G' Blog says:

the sidebar on the lonelytree demo has is widgets based so you will have to make changes in the widget section

      just add

      1) Search
      2) WP-Cumulus
      3) Recent Posts
      4) Links
      5) Recent Comments

Thats all you need to do…

  21. kingeagle says:

    Thank you,I get it.
